WELCOME TO OUR BLOG

As anyone who has participated in this program will attest, there are no words or pictures that can begin to adequately capture the beauty of the scenery or hospitality of the people in Cape Town. Therefore, this blog is merely intended to provide an overview of the program and a glimpse at some amazing adventures and life-changing experiences had by the students and staff of this program who have traveled together as co-educators and companions on the journey. As Resident Director and Faculty Advisor since 2008 it has been a privilege and honor to accompany an incredible variety of wonderful UConn students to a place we have all come to know and love.

Pre-departure Planning Continues

             
Preparations continue as participants: attend weekly pre-departure classes; apply for their visas, accompany their families to the Cape Town Symposium presented by the 2012 student-intern co-educations; meet with the travel nurse; and receive confirmation for their scheduled flights.

The final itinerary for travel to and from Cape Town from New York:

Students need to check with the airline to confirm baggage allowance.  All will meet at JKF International Airport at least 2 hours prior to departure on January 10, 2013.  Resident Director: Marita McComiskey, Cape Town Coordinator: Vernon Rose and Resident Assistants: Ben Brown & Erin Oleynek will be awaiting their arrival at Cape Town International Airport at 10:55 AM on 11 Jan 2013.
