I always knew I wanted to study abroad, however the “Where” was
always a tricky question. I constantly debated over Europe or Asia, South
America or Australia. However, I could not be more excited to be going to Cape
Town, South Africa for the 2013 spring semester. I have always dreamt about
working with the Peace Corps and other NGOs and I know that this experience
will provide me a one of a kind internship in a field which I have so much
interest. This excitement toward the program only increased after the symposium
and study abroad fair.
When I first
received notice of my acceptance I was excited, however I had to make sure I
didn't invest too much emotion into my acceptance. I still had a lot to figure
out, and was still unsure if I was able to go. This all changed yesterday on
Oct 12th when I officially confirmed and decided I am going off to Africa in
three short months. Therefore though my excitement came a little late, I am now
counting down the days. I can’t wait to meet all my housemates, and start
preparing for a trip across the world!
